How To Send Email Attachments in MailChimp

by rishi

At Digioh we are all about helping people send their Digital Files. When we learned that MailChimpers needed some help with adding email attachments in their newsletter we were excited to jump at the opportunity! Follow our simple step by step tutorial below to see how you can easily send attachments in your next email newsletter.

Here are two things you will learn:

  1. How to send an attachment in your next Email Newsletter via MailChimp
  2. How to see which one of your subscribers has downloaded your files

You will be up and running in under 2 minutes!

1. Sign up for Digioh here: http://digioh.com/mailchimp by entering your email and password in the “Create Your Free Account Box”.

2. Upload your email attachment by clicking the “Upload File” button

3. Set the price of your file. Most MailChimpers select “Free” here, this allows your subscribers to download your email attachment in one click for no charge. You can also set a price to charge your subscribers to download your file (this is great if you are selling a publication).

4. Enter in your MailChimp API Key. Don’t know your MailChimp API key?, click here to get it (you will need to be logged into MailChimp).

5. Pick the MailChimp subscriber list you would like to send the file to. We automatically pull in all your MailChimp lists. Next, pick the security level of your files. You have 3 options:

  • HIGH – Allows your files to be downloaded by subscribers 1 time. Pick this option if you only want to allow existing subscribers to be able to download your files.
  • LOW – Allows your files to be downloaded by your subscribers and prompts non-subscribers to subscribe to your newsletter in order to download the file. This options allows you to grow your subscriber base!
  • NONE – Allows your files to be downloaded by anyone. This means your existing subscribers can forward your newsletter and anyone will have access to download your file.

6. Copy your link

7. Login to MailChimp, create a newsletter, and paste the link in step #6 into your newsletter (feel free to hyperlink it to an image or a “Download Now” button).

8. Send Your Newsletter in MailChimp. Congrats you just sent an attachment in MailChimp!

9. Analyze when your files were downloaded and find out who downloaded your files in your Digioh Dashboard.

Of course we are always happy to help you out in anyway we can. If you have questions or feedback for us just drop us a note on our contact page.

PS If you like what we are doing and enjoy our product. Please leave us a review here.
